Project Approach

Project Approach

Technical and Methodology Approach

Treatment Optimization Approach

Distribution Network Mitigation Approach

Phase 1

  • Gather baseline information by identifying potential environmental, technology, and economic impacts of the proposed alternatives.

  • These include the positive and negative impacts of the proposed projects and possible mitigation and enhancement measures.

Phase 1

  • Collect and review historical data from the treatment plant

    • We will evaluate the historical data to determine the past and current performance of the treatment plant.

    • This will help us to determine line of action for effective system optimization

    • Review overall treatment processes if available

.

Phase 1

  • Distribution

    • Collect and review historical data for the distribution system

    • Create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for compliance sampling in the distribution system water if needed (optional)

    • Review the facility distribution system sampling point for compliance

Phase 2

  • Establish discussions and consultations with the advocate and stakeholders; engage in case studies and literature review; field visits for consultations and observations; data analysis and report writing.

  • Gather data already available in the public domain backed up by observations in the field.

Phase 2

  • Evaluate current treatment processes

    • Review system plant design if available

    • Review current system operation strategies

      • System feed, inter-stage and concentrate pressures

      • System flows (by stage if available)

      • Feed water and permeate water quality

Phase 2

  • Corrosion Control

    • Review current corrosion control strategy if available

    • Provide new corrosion control and monitoring strategies

    • Data collection to validate treatment changes

Phase 3

  • Make recommendations that will provide the best outcome in meeting project objectives

  • Advocate that stakeholders will agree to make sure the project approach is participatory.

Phase 3

  • Create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for process water sampling and process control

    • This Standard Operating Procedure will be developed if needed. (optional)

  • Create a sampling plan and analytical parameters

    • For water analysis from the source water, Treatment influent, POE and distribution system

Phase 3

  • End users piping and accessories investigation

    • Provide effective water flushing strategy to manage water age in the distribution system

    • Identify and investigate the requirements for free lead plumbing parts for POU use

Phase 4

  • Run the treatment plant with the operator using revised operation strategies

  • This is to confirm systems are operating at proper operating ranges

  • Provide recommendation as to treatment plant operation

  • Operate the treatment plant at the proposed recommended operation strategies
